Student & Parent Policy
These guidelines help maintain a positive, organized, and productive learning environment for all students and families at Doon Harmony.
A. Fees & Enrollment
1. Fee Policy
- Fees are payable in advance between the 1st and 5th of every month.
- Fees once paid are non-refundable and non-transferable.
2. Discontinuation of Classes
Parents are requested to inform the academy at least 15 days in advance if they wish to discontinue classes.
B. Attendance & Scheduling
3. Attendance & Absence
- Regular attendance is essential for steady musical progress.
- If a student is unable to attend a class, the academy should be informed in advance.
4. Makeup Classes
- Makeup classes are provided only in genuine cases and subject to teacher availability.
- Makeup classes cannot be guaranteed for all absences.
- Only some missed classes may be covered, depending on schedule availability.
5. School Examinations & Vacation Planning
- Parents are requested to inform the academy at least 15 days in advance, or as early as possible, regarding examinations, vacations, or extended absences.
- Prior notice allows the academy to plan schedules effectively and, where possible, cover classes before the student’s absence and after their return.
C. Learning & Development
6. Practice Expectations
- Students are encouraged to practice regularly at home.
- Progress depends not only on lessons but also on consistent practice between classes.
7. Examinations & Certifications
- Doon Harmony provides guidance for various certification programs, including ABRSM and Trinity College London examinations.
- Examination registration fees are separate from academy tuition fees.
8. Performances & Events
- Students may be invited to participate in recitals, workshops, concerts, competitions, and annual performances.
- Participation helps build confidence, stage presence, and practical musicianship.
D. Communication
9. Parent Communication Channels
Important updates, announcements, schedules, and event information will be shared through the official Doon Harmony WhatsApp Community and other academy communication channels.
10. Parent Communication
Parents are requested to respond to important messages, announcements, reminders, and updates shared by the academy whenever required.
E. Conduct & Media
11. Student Conduct
- Students are expected to behave respectfully toward teachers, staff, fellow students, instruments, and academy property.
- Any form of inappropriate behavior or disruption may result in disciplinary action.
12. Photography & Media
Photographs and videos taken during classes, recitals, workshops, and academy events may be used for educational, promotional, and social media purposes unless parents inform the academy otherwise in writing.
F. Academy Operations
13. Academy Holidays
Public holidays, special events, workshops, annual functions, and scheduled academy breaks will be communicated in advance.
